Sales Professional - Roofing Adhesives and Sealants

Ideal candidate will be based in the Greater Detroit Area

Territory - Indiana and Michigan

The Sales Professional - Roofing Adhesives and Sealants will manage assigned accounts and is accountable for executing on sales strategy including but not limited to

  • Manage, maintain and grow own territory, accountable for delivering results and effectively creates and use of a territory plan as well as customer budget and goal setting

  • Work with roofing crews using H.B. Fuller products on the jobsite or doing pull tests for the job requirements of the contractor

  • Work with company owners, estimators, superintendents, foreman, architects, consultants, and OEM personnel daily

  • Develop a strong understanding of client needs and provide solutions and opportunities and accelerates sales process by selecting the right opportunities

  • Negotiate complex situations within and outside the organization

  • Consistently applies sales process and use of all sales tools(SFDC) and develop sales funnel for future growth opportunities

  • Accountable for both growth and erosion prevention metrics

  • Ability to learn and demonstrate installation practices

  • Knowledgeable on company, customer, and competitive supply chains; with medium complexity is able to help optimize customer value chain models.

  • Plan a key role in innovation, both in identifying opportunities in the market and communicating them into the HB Fuller organization

  • Managing distribution activities to support growth in the core business

  • Identifying and developing relationships with key contractors

  • Creating a strong pull-through strategy with contractors to exceed sales and profit targets

  • Working with strategic firms and engineers that can specify H. B. Fuller branded products

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, engineering, or related field OR without a formal degree 3+ years of relevant experience and demonstrated success in selling to distribution while creating end user pull

  • 2+ years of relevant sales experience with Contractors and/or Architects

  • Ability to understand various business scenarios and cope with them effectively

  • Willing to travel 50-75% and possess a valid driver's license

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

  • Flexible, open-minded, organized, and tenacious and a good team player

  • Demonstrated experience and success in technical sales or technical background

  • Experience with PC skills with Microsoft Windows applications, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Skilled verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within the roofing industry.

  • Understanding of Technical Specifications and construction engineering

  • Customer related technical work or similar.

  • Understanding of "value selling" techniques and how to quantify value

  • Leadership potential and desire for more responsibility

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $70,000 - $80,000 in addition to the base salary, this position is eligible to participate in the Sales Incentive Plan.
