Responsibilities

The Vendor Management and Insurance Specialist conducts vendor management activities supporting the organization's objectives for value-driven vendor partnerships and focused on risk management, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. This position requires the ability to review markets, support contract negotiation, and support relationships with key suppliers to drive cost savings, improve efficiency, and ensure high-quality products and services are delivered on time.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, ensuring they meet our company's quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
* Assist in the development and implementation of vendor management strategies that align with organization goals and market trends. Review spend data and assess opportunities for cost reductions and process improvements.
* Assist in negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, terms, and conditions. Ensure contracts comply with corporate policies and legal standards.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, managing performance through regular reviews and addressing any concerns or issues.
* Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, emerging suppliers, and potential opportunities for innovation or cost savings.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., Legal, Finance, IT) to understand requirements, align vendor management strategies, and ensure timely procurement of goods/services.
* Assist in identifying and mitigating supply chain risks, such as disruptions, delays, or quality issues. Assist in the development of contingency plans to ensure continuous supply.
* Track and report on vendor management and procurement metrics. Ensure that vendor management initiatives contribute to the organizations' overall cost-reduction goals.
* Continuously monitor and assess supplier performance based on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as quality, delivery, and cost. Implement corrective actions when necessary.
* Complete corporate insurance renewal applications and any new coverage applications as required based on evolving risks.
* Initiate insurance claims based on specific loss scenarios and compile data as required by the insurer to substantiate the claim.
* Work with the insurance broker to maintain an accurate listing of the credit union's property and insured values.

This is a hybrid opportunity that will require you to be in office at our headquarters (Enola, PA) 2-3 days per week. The position may require in-person training.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
* Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
* Visually able to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading
* Ability to sit for extended time periods
* Sufficient manual skill for operation of PC keyboard and other standard office equipment
* Ability to travel, including occasional overnight travel
* Ability to exert minimum amounts of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects

This figure serves as the entry point in our salary range, and there is potential for the actual salary to be higher based on a variety of factors, such as your experience, skills, education, and location. We believe in recognizing and rewarding talent, so our compensation packages are thoughtfully designed to reflect the unique qualifications and contributions of each candidate.


The minimum salary for this position is:

$56,000+/year
