This position is based out of our Bloomington, MN office, it requires up to 60% travel throughout the US.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Our base salary is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The starting base salary range for this position is listed below. Actual starting salary will be based on a variety of factors including experience, skill set, education, performance, license/certifications, business needs, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Starting Base Annual Salary Range:

$66,180 - $100,100

Bonus Eligibility:

This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on a combination of company and individual performance.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for supporting Logistics Automation system sales for SICK, Inc. by providing technical support to the sales team, customers, integrators, and distributors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support throughout a system's life cycle from the concept phase to the system design and fabrication, assembly, installation and support.
  • Test customer applications to validate system functionality and performance as required by the customer.
  • Travel to customer sites to evaluate customer applications, recommending SICK solutions to solve technical problems.
  • Evaluate new technical solutions to verify functionality and provide feedback to the engineering team.
  • Support field evaluations and competitive tests.
  • Provide systems training to customers, integrators, distributors and the sales team.
  • Provide continuous technical support for customers, integrators, distributors and the sales team both over the phone and over email.
  • Handle difficult customer situations, upholding a positive customer image of SICK, Inc.
  • Gain knowledge to better support the customer through complex factory systems automation.
  • Work with internal resources and external installation resources to identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical support to Field Service when needed.
  • Utilize standard methodologies in capturing customer requirements and translating into relevant system definitions
  • Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred OR equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in new system development, project management, or new system definition toward Industrial Automation.
  • Experience in technical systems sales and/or systems marketing.
  • Experience in machine vision is a plus.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to self-start and learn on the fly.
  • Programming capabilities in MatLab, C, C++, Helcon or Lua a plus.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Internet applications
  • Ability and willingness to work alternative schedules including weekend, and on-call hours as needed
  • Legally permitted to work in the United States
  • Ability to work in a general office environment
