The American Hospital Association (AHA) is a national organization that represents and serves all types of hospitals, health care networks, and their patients and communities. The AHA has two main offices, located in Washington, D.C. and Chicago. We are currently seeking a Specialist, Research & Technical Services for our Chicago office. This position is a hybrid role (three days in the office, two days working remote).

Starting base salary = $52,000- $65,000- $78,000 (commensurate with related experience). The AHA is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The Specialist, Research Technical Services is responsible for providing technical, system and basic research support to the AHA Resource Center (RC) team, AHA staff, members and customers, ensuring them access to timely, high quality health services information quickly and easily. Provide basic reference and research services; support the RC request tracking system, online catalog, document delivery platform and other databases; and create/update content on RC Portal and RC aha.org site. Work as part of team to provide the services, resources, and systems needed to support the development and ongoing operation of RC service lines and products.

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

* Research support: Fulfill basic reference/research requests, including custom data requests, document delivery and Interlibrary Loan (IL) for RC staff and customers.
* Technology support: Maintain and support technologies and systems that provide access to the RC's information resources and digital collections, including request tracking system, document delivery platform, online catalog and other databases. Perform software and hardware troubleshooting, identify application enhancements and explore new technologies aligned with RC technology strategy and AHA IT requirements.
* Content management: Maintain information and data resources on RC aha.org and RC Portal sites; create and post new content.
* Data analysis: Support RC services and resources usage analysis; create KPI metrics for RC Dashboard and AHA member value dashboard.
* Data Visualization: Create and maintain infographics/data visualizations for AHA Fast Facts and RC research deliverables using Excel, Tableau and other tools.
* Training: Develop technology guidelines and training materials for staff and other users. Create documentation for RC procedures/technical processes. Train AHA staff in Resource Center technology and tools.
* Administrative support: Provide general administrative support for the RC, including: photocopying, printing, mail review/distribution, order/organize supplies, prepare statistical reports, spreadsheets, surveys/polls and other records/forms. Process invoices, budget documentation, RC contracts and other financial information/reports using various internal finance systems.
