Material Handler I

Summary:

To expedite the flow of materials and components through the Molding Department

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Load and unload materials from or onto pallets, trays, racks, bins, and shelves.
• Move material by hand, pallet jack, and truck or barrel dolly.
• Control flow of material to ensure sufficient material is available to meet manufacturing schedule.
• Ensure proper documentation and labeling of work.
• Count production or inventory.
• PM dryers and grinders by assuring filters are cleaned daily.
• Follow written and oral instructions on duties to perform.
• Additional tasks as assigned by Molding Department supervision.
• Adhere to all Atrion policies including safety, attendance, and personal hygiene requirements per the Atrion Employee Handbook.

• Math skills including the ability to apply common concepts.
• Ability to communicate effectively and write legibly

• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Education:

High school diploma or GED required. One to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Physical Demands:

Up to 1/3 of time is spent sitting, conversing, using hands, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with hands and arms. Up to 2/3 of time is spent walking and reaching with hands and arms. 2/3 of time is spent lifting weight of 10 to 55 lbs. Up to 1/3 of time is spent lifting weight of 100 lbs. and more.

Work Environment:

The work environment described here is representative of that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a general manufacturing environment interacting with others in the same work area. The noise level is typically moderate.
