Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for supervising ultrasound staff in accordance with their job descriptions, maintaining a high standard of work and is responsible for timely and accurate service delivery on all shifts. Remains cognizant of accrediting agency requirements and maintains manuals, logs and other documents to their standards. Aids in developing and implementing all policies relating to Performance Improvement, Quality Control, in ultrasound. Shows leadership, delegates responsibility, establishes accountability among his/her staff. Responsible for interacting with hospital staff and/or nursing departments regarding patient care, concerns, and conflicts by identifying and assisting in the resolutions. Participates in and encourages continuing education. Performs regular in-services, orientates new staff, performs annual evaluations and prepares work schedules, maintains inventory and staffing within budgetary limitations. May be required to attend imaging related committee meetings and to perform other such duties as required by the Radiology Director. Adheres to Practice Parameters set forth by AIUM and or ACR, along with collaboration with Radiologist. This position summary contains the most relevant duties and responsibilities and does not exclude other assignments not mentioned. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must have current BCLS certification. 2. Minimum 3 years ultrasound experience. 3. Knowledge of performance standards as outlined by the ARRT and or ARDMS 4. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer. EDUCATION / Licensure: 1. Graduate from an approved school in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine, or Ultrasound program. 2. Certified by ARDMS (AB BR OB/GYN), and RVT (VT) Or ARRT (S) and ARRT (VS) 3. AAS preferred. EXPERIENCE: * Able to assist radiologist in performing procedures of various parts of the body from head to lower extremities when needed. * Able to utilize critical thinking to ensure the appropriate patient care is delivered * Thorough knowledge of Joint Commission and TDSHS requirements and maintains documentation for these regulating bodies.
