Job Description

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Electronics engineering team is rapidly growing to support the development of Flight Termination Systems and Tactical electronics in support of Space & Defense applications. EBAD seeks a skilled person for a Senior Electrical/Electronics Engineering position, reporting to the Electrical Product Development Lead.

Responsibilities:

This is an opportunity in the electronic hardware design, fabrication, assembly, test, and integration of circuit card assemblies and subsystems with an emphasis on design of boards containing analog, digital, or mixed signal circuits. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the following activities: circuit analysis, circuit simulation, circuit board layout/routing, and design documentation. This position is also responsible for troubleshooting and resolving hardware performance issues found during hardware integration, test, and verification. This role will be involved in all phases of the product lifecycle, including requirements definition, concept creation, detailed implementation, test and integration, and product support.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with a Bachelors and 10+ years' experience or a Masters with 7+ years' experience
  • Significant experience designing and implementing electrical circuits using an end-to-end product-based electronics development phase-gate process with strong knowledge in the analog, digital, or mixed signal domains
  • Lead the development of electrical circuit schematics for complex systems and analyze/simulate designs to understand key parameters and sensitivities
  • Experienced designing systems using embedded microprocessors and microcontrollers
  • Knowledge of embedded C and FPGA/VHDL development
  • Proficient with the use of diagnostics tools such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition systems and environmental chambers for "hands-on" testing and troubleshooting of PCBs and electronic products
  • Perform risk analyses: FMECA, fault tree, operating stress, and electrical worst-case.
  • Knowledge and experience with DOD, SAE, IEEE, and/or IPC standards
  • Provide technical leadership and accountability for timely project deliverables
  • Lead design reviews and provide mentorship for junior engineers including design critique
  • Recommends and implements design and development practices
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment

Desired skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of Altium schematic capture and PCB layout software preferred
  • Skilled in C, C++, and python
  • Familiarity with engineering tools such as LabVIEW, Solid Works, MATLAB, and circuit simulation software (Multisim, PSpice)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
