"If we can get one child adopted into a loving family, all our work will be worth it."

- Dave Thomas

Join us as we champion our mission to dramatically increase the number of adoptions of children waiting in North America's foster care systems. We've helped to find safe, permanent homes for more than 15,000 young people across the United States and Canada, but our mission is not complete. Invest your career in making a difference and join the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption's team.

We offer a supportive workplace where you can make an impact. We are dedicated to creating a diverse, inclusive and equitable work environment for Foundation staff, while advocating for measurable change toward racial equity within the child welfare system.

We are looking for excellent talent to support our mission. Located in Dublin, Ohio the WWK & Training associate director will manage and execute training opportunities for contracted agencies and provide technical assistance to support the Foundation's signature child-focused recruitment training program, the Child-focused recruitment model (CFR). Through curriculum development, needs assessments and facilitating best practices, the WWK & training associate director will support stakeholders in both English and Spanish to enhance their knowledge to ensure fidelity to the child-focused recruitment model. This is an exciting opportunity to directly support our mission through on-site and virtual training opportunities and assess adherence to the program model while working toward the goal of dramatically increasing adoptions from foster care. If you have in-depth experience with foster care adoption and possess exceptional bilingual (Spanish) communication skills, both verbal and written, we encourage you to apply and learn more.

Key Deliverables:

  1. Facilitate and deliver the child-focused recruitment training to Wendy's Wonderful Kids (WWK) recruiters and supervisors
  2. Schedule in-person CFR training, virtual CFR pre-training and execute contracts for logistics related to training while adhering to allocated budget
  3. Translate Foundation materials and aid in the review of Spanish documents; provides onsite Spanish/English interpretation support for meetings as needed
  4. Collaborate on the development of additional training resources, including webinars, instructor-led courses and practice tools for enhancement of the CFR and other child welfare related education to the learning management system end user
  5. Monitor WWK grantee/partner agency performance, including monthly online data submissions, bi-annual narrative and fiscal reports, and compliance with agency goals
  6. Routinely review data submissions for accuracy and evaluation of fidelity to the child-focused recruitment model
  7. Perform site visits as necessary and engage in regular contact with assigned WWK recruiters
  8. Assist with annual WWK Summit, orientation of new recruiters and ongoing educational and technical assistance efforts
