Position Summary:

The Director of Trade Operations and Channel Analytics for the Meitheal's Specialty Business Unit is responsible for informing, implementing, and executing Trade and Channel Strategies; monitoring, managing, and performing day-to-day Trade Operations activities, and defining, developing, and monitoring Trade and Channel Data, Analytics, and Reporting across all Trade partners for brand and specialty product portfolios. This position reports to the Senior Director of Trade and Specialty Distribution.

Payrate is determined by considering a person's prior experience and competence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Trade and Distribution Strategy, Execution and Performance

  • Inform, execute, and maintain Trade and Distribution Strategies with 3PL, Wholesalers, Specialty Distributors, Pharmacies (Retail, Specialty, Hospital Inpatient/Outpatient, VA/DoD, Prisons, etc.), GPOs, Private Label partners (if applicable), Data Aggregators, etc.
  • Inform and support development and execution of various Trade policies and processes related to Return Goods Policy, Product Replacement, etc.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on Trade Partner (3PL/FLW/SD/SP) business and sales activity and performance against contract requirements, metrics, and measures.
  • Support and participate in business reviews and track and deliver updates on Trade Partner KPI progress and status of QBR action items.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Market Access, Pricing and Contracting, Marketing and Sales, Commercial Analytics, Legal, Contract Marketing, etc. to deliver results aligned to Meitheal's goals and objectives.
  • Provide industry insights related to Trade and Distribution.
  • Attend and participate in key Trade and Channel Distribution conferences (i.e. HDA, Asembia, NACDS, etc.).
  • Inform and support development and execution of new product launch terms and materials for Trade Partners.

Trade Operations

  • Manage, monitor, and perform day-to-day Trade Operations activities including ordering, shipping/deliveries, returns, product replacement, and order to cash activities, etc.
  • Track and communicate daily sales, inventory levels, returns, and other activity; identify anything that appears outside the norm that should be escalated.
  • Field, support, and address Trade Operations inquiries and issues.
  • Review, approve, and monitor Trade and Channel Partner invoices and payments; validate performance measures and metrics to support appropriate payment of these fees; work with functional stakeholders and Trade partners to address and resolve discrepancies.
  • Communicate operational changes or updates that may impact day-to-day Trade Ops activities such as order intake, shipment and delivery schedules, etc. (i.e., closed for holiday, weather issues, etc.).
  • Execute and manage inventory strategy and analytics to maintain mutually agreed upon inventory target levels per Trade Partner agreements; identify, communicate and address discrepancies and emerging trends.
  • Monitor inventory levels and generate and communicate reports for quantity, lot status, expiration dates, etc. to all functional stakeholders.
  • Communicate with Trade Partners regarding any potential lot prioritization, shipping discrepancies, etc.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Create and communicate price notifications to channel partners per Trade Partner agreements.

Trade and Channel Data, Analytics and Reporting

  • Inform, develop, and manage Trade and Channel Data, Analytics, and Reporting Strategy.
  • Create timely and actionable data analytics and reports and communicate business insights and trends to inform and support company and function decision making.
  • Monitor, assess, and validate the completeness, timeliness and accuracy of channel data and reporting provided by all Trade Partners, Data Partners, Data Aggregators, internal sources, etc. Address data inquires and identify and resolve data issues and discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Work with and confirm demand data and EDI 867 data to support salesforce incentive calculations.
  • Manage relationships and contracts with Trade and Channel Data Partners and Data Aggregator(s) (i.e. ValueCentric, IQVIA, etc.).
  • Work with Trade Partners and functional stakeholders to set up new EDIs feeds and update and manage existing ones.

Product Forecasting and Launch Planning Readiness

  • Understand the end-to-end supply chain, production lead times, potential obstacles and other areas and activities that directly impact commercial and non-commercial product availability for our Trade and Channel partners.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Operations and Supply Chain teams to inform and support the development, revision, and accuracy of production plans and timelines for current on-market products and future products pending launch approval.
  • Provide and maintain product materials for Trade Partners to support new product launches and existing products (HDA forms, Product Fact Sheets).
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to support Trade related new product launch activities.

GTN Optimization and Operational Excellence

  • Identify, communicate, and support opportunities and activities that protect GTN, improve GTN, or mitigate negative impact to GTN.
  • Identify, inform, and lead continuous improvement and operational excellence efforts to create efficiencies and build and improve scalable business processes.
  • Inform and monitor the Trade and Distribution budget and track and communication monthly gaiting and spending to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, MS or MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years' relative experience in Trade and Distribution in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
  • 4+ years' experience in analytics, forecasting, strategy consulting or other quantitative fields.
  • 4+ years of customer service and Trade operations experience in GMP environment pertaining to pharmaceutical/biotech products.
  • Extensive knowledge of Trade and Distribution, trade operations and dependencies, and supply change including product manuf. processes and flows from start to finish to 1st point of sale.
  • Extensive experience working with all types of Trade and Channel partners (3PL, national/regional wholesalers and distributors, specialty and retail pharmacy, data partners, etc.); direct and indirect agreements.
  • Extensive knowledge of wholesaler, distributor, pharmacy (retail, specialty, etc.) and retailer data, Trade data platforms (i.e. IntegriChain or ValueCentric), EDI data sets (852,867, etc.), and visualization tools (PowerBI or Tableau).
  • Proven track record of ensuring consistent and timely product access through Trade and Distribution channel partners, anticipating, communicating and mitigating events that may lead to sell outs, shortages, etc.
  • Experience developing data analytics and reporting used to monitor, manage, and communicate business and performance, anticipate and identify trends, and inform and support strategy development and execution.
  • Ability to anticipate, communicate, and resolve problems with sense of urgency.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (i.e. SAP) and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Proven record of executing and optimizing Trade and Channel Strategies.
  • Experience with identifying and championing initiatives resulting in process improvements and GTN optimization/savings.
  • Prior launch experience with brand and specialty pharmaceuticals/biologics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be willing to work in a fast paced, ambiguous environment with competing priorities and could solve problems with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and work cross functionally and externally.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to lead without direct authority.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present complex information in a meaningful way that resonates across various cross functional groups and all levels.
  • Requires up to 10% travel, including some overnight and weekend commitments.
