Job Scope

The Senior Director, Strategic Hospital Accounts will be responsible for developing and executing Diasorin's strategy to drive growth and market penetration within key hospital systems, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), and academic medical centers. This individual will lead high-impact initiatives focused on expanding enterprise-wide partnerships, driving value-based engagement, and optimizing commercial execution across the hospital segment.

In addition, this role will provide leadership, coaching, and direction to a team of Health System Executive (HSEs), ensuring alignment with business objectives, sales performance goals, and customer engagement strategies. The Sr. Director will foster a high-performance culture that drives collaboration, accountability, and results.

Working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Health Economics & Reimbursement, and Commercial Operations, the Sr. Director will ensure alignment of Diasorin's solutions with customer needs, enhancing competitive differentiation and reinforcing Diasorin as a preferred diagnostic partner.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Account Leadership & Growth



  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for targeting and managing large hospital systems, IDNs, and key health system stakeholders to maximize growth opportunities.
  • Build and expand strategic partnerships with C-suite executives, supply chain decision-makers, laboratory directors, and other key stakeholders to position Diasorin's diagnostic portfolio as a critical component of patient care.
  • Drive top-line revenue growth by identifying business opportunities, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the successful execution of strategic initiatives within hospital accounts.
  • Leverage clinical, operational, and financial insights to create compelling value propositions that demonstrate Diasorin's impact on hospital efficiency, patient outcomes, and healthcare costs.
  • Oversee the negotiation and implementation of enterprise agreements, pricing strategies, and service-level agreements to drive long-term partnership value.


Team Leadership & Talent Development



  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Health System Executive (HSEs) to drive sales performance, account expansion, and customer engagement within the hospital segment.
  • Establish clear objectives, key performance indicators (KPIs), and success metrics for the team, ensuring accountability and alignment with corporate goals.
  • Provide ongoing training and mentorship to enhance team capabilities in value-based selling, complex negotiations, and strategic account management.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, ensuring the team is equipped with the tools and strategies needed to excel.
  • Partner with HR and Sales Leadership to recruit, onboard, and retain top talent, building a world-class team dedicated to driving market leadership in the hospital segment.


Cross-Functional Collaboration & Market Intelligence



  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Health Economics, and R&D teams to align offerings with market needs, customer challenges, and evolving healthcare trends.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and hospital system priorities to inform strategic decision-making and ensure Diasorin maintains a competitive edge.
  • Act as a liaison between field teams and corporate leadership, providing insights and recommendations to refine strategies and enhance market penetration.


Education, Experience and Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA, MPH, or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in commercial leadership roles within the medical device, diagnostics, or life sciences industry, with a strong focus on strategic hospital or IDN account management.
  • Proven experience managing and developing high-performing sales teams, with a track record of driving revenue growth and customer expansion.
  • Deep understanding of hospital purchasing dynamics, reimbursement models, health economics, and value-based care initiatives.
  • Exceptional executive presence with the ability to influence and engage senior healthcare decision-makers.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L, contracts, and pricing strategies.
  • Ability to navigate complex, matrixed organizations and lead cross-functional teams toward shared goals.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
