Job Summary
B&A is looking for a Legislative Support to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. We are seeking a
Legislative Support Specialist with expertise in judicial and legislative processes, particularly in forensic DNA research. The ideal candidate will have experience in legislative research, policy analysis, and document preparation, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint. Knowledge of the
FBI sytems is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct legislative research and analysis related to forensic DNA policies, laws, and regulations.
- Provide support in tracking, interpreting, and summarizing judicial and legislative developments that impact forensic DNA programs.
- Assist in drafting reports, policy documents, and briefings related to forensic DNA legislation and judicial matters.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint to create, manage, and store legislative documents.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of forensic DNA legislation and policies, including their implications on national and international levels.
- Support legislative outreach and engagement efforts, including communication with policymakers, law enforcement agencies, and forensic science professionals.
- Provide insights and recommendations on legislative initiatives affecting forensic DNA programs.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree
- 5 Years of experience.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in judicial and legislative roles.
- At least 5 years of experience conducting legislative research specifically in forensic DNA.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint (User level) for document creation and management.
Desired Skills
- Experience with and knowledge of the FBI system.
- Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to synthesize complex legislative information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise reports and policy documents.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders at various levels.
