Inside the Role

In this role, you will be a pivotal member of the development team making autonomous driving a reality. The person selected for this role will lead the testing activities for the fail-operational vehicle platform to ensure safe and reliable operation of our highly automated truck chassis. You will be responsible for developing and executing system-level and vehicle-level tests, leading testing campaigns, and mentoring junior engineers while working closely with talented engineers in the global project team.

Position offers a starting salary range of $110,500 - $141,500 USD

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, andexperience

What You Drive at DTNA

  • Develop system- and vehicle-level validation concept for the redundant chassis
  • Guide engineers across the department through fast-passed, high exposure iterative development cycles
  • Plan and execute test campaigns involving multiple stakeholders, and participants from both inside and outside the department
  • Define timelines, track milestones and contribute to the implementation of the validation concept
  • Interact and align with the overall functional safety concept
  • Lead project teams through influence and example
  • Keep up to date with the latest technologies and regulations in the field of L4 system validation
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and tools

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering- Automotive, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, or similar, plus five years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Proven work experience in automotive or aerospace product development related to product validation and/or functional safety (e.g. ISO 26262) required
  • Excellent team player skills combined with the will to improve the product to its best required
  • Strong understanding of the use of various test platforms throughout the development process.
  • Experience with Autonomous driving development and/or testing
  • Ability to work and collaborate with remote locations over different time zones required
  • Ability to travel domestically required
  • An attached resume is required

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Experience with change management and deploying new software tools in a cross-functional environment
  • Experience with Vector Tools
  • Prior experience in applying validation standards and metrics (ASIL, MISRA, etc.) and taking complex systems through validation process preferred
  • Commercial vehicle R&D experience preferred
  • Licensed to drive commercial vehicles, or the ability to obtain a CDL
