Title: Engineering Technician - Production Location: Independence, MO Salary: $66,000 - $84,200 depending on experience. Schedule: 4 - 10 hour shifts with overtime as needed. Night and Day shifts available. Focus: The ideal candidate will assist in the design, development, testing, and manufacturing of products. They will ensure that production processes are efficient, safe, and meet quality standards. Engineer Technician - Production Job Functions:
- Achieve overall operations goals, constantly improving equipment and technicians, and providing immediate assistance on major safety, quality, and downtime issues associated with machine malfunctions.
- Provide maintenance support within the department for operations, engineering, and maintenance, and manage preventive maintenance paperwork and assignments.
- Create new procedures when needed, help keep current procedures updated and manage the control of communication devices for the department.
- Operates and performs advanced adjustments, diagnostic, preventative and emergency electronic/mechanical maintenance on automated high-speed ammunition manufacturing equipment.
- Operates equipment with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) touchscreen panel.
- Troubleshoots, adjusts and calibrates as necessary to make adjustments to obtain specified operating conditions; may include such actions as turning valves, switches, moving and setting controls, adjusting furnaces, and pumps.
- Inspects products using a variety of gages, complete hardness testing, chemical checks, and other quality checks as needed to assist the manufacturing process.
- Performs root cause analysis for productions, quality, and safety issues.
- Prepares detailed records and reports such as inventory, receiving, operating, and lab analysis.
- Operates heavy equipment such as hand trucks or forklifts.
Engineer Technician - Production Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years hands on experience working on and repairing industrial machinery.
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to work independently when required.
- Good communication and documentation skills, with basic people and leadership abilities.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, understanding of control systems, and proficiency with basic hand and power tools; machining experience is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experience with Inventor or similar computer-generated drawing programs.
- Ability to read schematics and drawings, follow written and verbal instructions, and develop/implement new processes.
- Ability and willingness to work any shift, including weekends and overtime.
Location-Specific Requirements:
- Must possess, or be able to obtain, and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Must possess a Valid US driver's license.
- This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
- This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
- This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. The US Government does not allow non-US citizens on-site at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Therefore, to be considered in the hiring process, the candidate must be a US citizen.
