SUMMARY Drives Salvation Army vehicle to pick-up and transport beneficiaries and] or employees from-and to specified destinations and/or deliver packages, inter-office mail, etc. as requested by supervision, ESSENTIAL DUTIES /Responsibilities: Transport beneficiaries to/from work therapy assignments-
Wear provided back guard when doing any substantial lifting or moving. Personally, maintain a neat appearance, including clean clothing, clean shaven, neatly trimmed hair, shirttail tucked in and appropriate head gear. Responsible for loading and unloading of assigned vehicle when making deliveries. Support the mission statement of The Salvation Army OTHER DUTIES: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or administrator- QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions- Education and/or Experience At least two years licensed driving experience or have a passing grade on the "Coaching the Experienced Driver self-study course. Language Skills Ability to read two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers_ Ability to print and speak to customers and helpers. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations Ability to plan daily route coverage. Clerical/Mathematics Skills Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, distance, and American money. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRAT}ONS Driver's license to operate trucks of type used by location. Clear MVR report Successfully completed The Salvation Army Road Test.
