Overview

Overview

The Chief of Training - Digital Learning Services role is responsible for leading the development and innovation of digital learning products, managing the entire digital library of content, and managing the back-end of the Learning Management System (LMS). This position will report to the Manager of Learning Solutions and Innovation and will be part of EB's curriculum team.

The position's major responsibility is to oversee the execution of digital training development and management of the content in the LMS to ensure consistent delivery that meets objectives and supports the needs of EB. This role will manage the tactical execution of training programs as well as consult with management, including Senior Leadership and Workforce Development leadership staff, on the strategic learning priorities within Electric Boat. The successful candidate will partner with peer leaders to facilitate a strong leadership and coaching culture to create a positive learning experience through all cognizant areas of delivery. The ability to think strategically and execute long-term projects is necessary to be successful in this position.

Key Responsibilities
    Develop, implement, and continuously improve digital training content
  • Oversee team of instructional designers and HR representatives
  • Manage entire curriculum/content library housed in EB's LMS and EB University website
  • Oversee functional transactions within software across the Learning Ecosystem including:
    • Publishing courses in the Learning Management System & ensuring correct functionality
    • Ensure curriculum is grouped and digitally delivered as imagined by stakeholders
    • Troubleshooting anomalies and investigating trouble tickets
    • Creation of digital learning content such as interactive eLearning courses, short learning videos, or infographics, and interactive PDFs.
  • Establish and execute plan for development and monitoring of digital training content
  • Partner with IT and LMS provider to maintain uninterrupted delivery and support of digital training for all EB employees.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Learning, Workforce Education and Development, or a related field required
  • 4+ years of proven practical experience
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience with project execution (developing a curriculum, curriculum development projects, designing learning content or implementing new learning programs)

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of leadership experience or successful completion of FLG or BLG
  • Prior experience in teaching, higher education, and/or in a customer service role
  • Previous Workforce Development experience
