Job Summary
B&A is looking for a Project Manager to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. We are seeking a highly skilled
Project Manager to lead and oversee large-scale IT development projects within a government environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management, including requirements analysis, systems engineering, and operations and maintenance projects. This role requires expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM), as well as a strong background in managing multiyear government projects.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the full project lifecycle, from initiation to completion, ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
- Conduct requirements analysis to ensure project deliverables align with stakeholder needs and technical specifications.
- Lead systems engineering and development efforts, working closely with technical teams to design, develop, and implement IT solutions.
- Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to monitor project performance, cost control, and risk management.
- Manage operations and maintenance projects, ensuring seamless integration and functionality of IT systems.
- Provide direct oversight for large IT development initiatives, ensuring compliance with government regulations and contractual obligations.
- Work collaboratively with government stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives.
- Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations using Microsoft Project.
- Track project progress, prepare reports, and present updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing challenges to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to industry best practices, security policies, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of project management experience.
Required Skills
- Extensive project management experience relating to requirements analysis, systems engineering/development, operations and maintenance projects
- Extensive experience in EVM
- Direct project management experience overseeing large IT developments
- Experience in Government multiyear projects
- Microsoft Office experience, including Microsoft Project
Desired Skills
- Maintain an active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Jira Project Management experience
- Experience in implementing feedback and performing corrective actions to ensure project success
