Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain complex systems that support our business operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems architecture, troubleshooting, and optimization, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and security. A key aspect of this role is researching and ensuring traceability of requirements, ensuring they are well-documented and met throughout the system lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

    Design, develop, and implement system architecture solutions to meet business needs.
  • Conduct thorough research to ensure system requirements are clearly defined, traceable, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain traceability matrices to track system requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for system failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and enhance existing systems while maintaining compliance with documented requirements.
  • Manage system security, including data protection, access controls, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Automate system administration tasks and improve efficiency through scripting and other tools.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams, ensuring best practices in system management.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines, ensuring alignment with documented requirements.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in system engineering.

*Position is contingent upon Spring 2025 contract award*



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph level clearance is required.
  • BA/BS and 5+ years of experience; Masters and 3+ years of experience; an additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven experience as a Systems Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in networking protocols, security principles, and system automation.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
  • Strong ability to research, analyze, and document system requirements with traceability.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
  • Experience in virtualization technologies like VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Understanding of database management and storage solutions.
  • Background in cybersecurity and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).
  • Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS, Jama, etc.).

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
