The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine at West Virginia University Research Corporation is currently accepting applications for a Laboratory Technician position. About the Opportunity We are seeking a motivated research technician to join our NIH-funded laboratory, located within the Health Science Center of WVU in Morgantown, WV. Our research focuses on investigating the functions of molecular motor proteins in visual and auditory mechanisms. Our lab uses a combination of in vitro reconstitution, single-molecule biophysics, quantitative imaging, and cell biological approaches to pursue these questions. The selected candidate will support and perform independent research, present at our weekly group meetings and national conferences, and receive dedicated mentorship. The selected candidate will work with the Principal Investigator (PI) to understand the roles of molecular motors in the vision and hearing processes. We also strive to identify new molecular targets for treatments for both congenital and acquired deaf-blindness. You will help the team in research supplies and lab logistics. You will also actively participate in the ongoing research including regular presentation at our weekly group meetings.
