Core Responsibilities
- Under general supervision to perform general gas service work including inspection and servicing of most complicated appliance installations.
- To read, set, remove, change and turn gas meters on and off, replace gas meter registers.
- To read and turn on and off electric meters as required, to install and remove one single phase kilowatt hour socket type meter up to and including 200 amperes in conjunction with gas order work; trace piping; inspect, adjust, make emergency repairs to any gas appliances, perform public building and gas service inspections.
- Perform surveillance and recheck gas leaks; survey gas facilities; make intelligent records and reports and see that all Safety and Good Housekeeping Rules are followed.
- Under direct supervision, will assist in gas leaks and stoppages; in repair of gas pressure regulators; and inspection and repair of gas valves.

- Must have general knowledge of Company policies, routines and procedures; good appearance, speech and manners; resourcefulness, initiative and ability to work without direct supervision. Required
- Ability to train and lead. Required
- Must pass Gas Troubleshooter Predictor test. Required
- This position is subject to drug and alcohol testing as required by the Department of Transportation. Required
- All employees bidding into any Gas Service position must live within a 40-mile drive of the posted Headquarters. Required
- Employees shall not be eligible to apply for vacant positions outside Gas Services until they have completed 24 months of work.
