Job Overview
The Sr Manager, Procurement at T-Mobile develops and implements a synchronized approach for the procurement of technology, domestic and international long distance voice services, Internet and IP connectivity. This includes developing effective relationships with Network Engineering, Marketing, and EIT as well as other business owners to identify opportunities and agree upon category tactics to maximize value through effective procurement strategies. Negotiates multi-million dollar complex contracts, evaluating suppliers, defining demand requirements, and maintaining supplier relations through quarterly business reviews. Partners with Government Affairs to influence regulatory policy is critical in maintaining and evolving a competitive telecom services sector that will lower cost and continue to drive value for the TMUS business. The Sr Manager, Procurement will establish strategic direction, driving operational excellence in the technology voice, voice and IP space. Requires ability to effectively deal with ambiguity and complexity. The Sr Manager, Procurement is accountable for setting performance direction, delegating, motivating, holding others accountable as well as coaching and developing others.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversees a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and leadership to enhance performance.
- Manages vendor and strategic supplier relationships to secure advantageous terms and maintain Network reliability.
- Develops procurement strategies that align with organizational goals and ensures cost-efficiency.
- Implements best practices and innovative solutions to improve the procurement process.
- Ensures compliance with internal and external policies and regulations within the procurement department.
- Interacts regularly with internal and external executives to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Technology, or Engineering (Required)
- Master's/Advanced Degree Business Administration or Supply Chain Management (Preferred)
Work Experience:
- 7-10 years Experience in leading and managing procurement processes for domestic and international voice traffic (LCR, termination, routing) in a technology or wireless industry. (Required)
- 7-10 years Experience in developing and Negotiating wholesale carrier agreements for long-distance and international voice traffic. (Required)
- 7-10 years Experience in managing service-level agreements (SLAs), pricing models, and traffic commitments. (Required)

- Vendor Management- Expertise in managing and negotiating with vendors to secure favorable terms and maintain supply chain efficiency. (Required)
- Strategic Planning- Ability to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organization's overall business goals. (Required)

- Problem Solving- Capability to identify and resolve complex issues within the procurement process to ensure operational continuity and efficiency. (Required)
- Negotiation- Proficient in negotiation to achieve optimal contract terms and cost savings while maintaining quality and service standards. (Required)
- Analytics- Strong analytical skills to assess procurement metrics and performance, facilitating data-driven decision making. (Required)
- Supply Chain Management- Extensive knowledge of supply chain operations including planning, forecasting, and inventory control. (Required)
- Communication- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders and lead executive-level presentations. (Required)
- Financial Analysis- Ability to perform financial analysis to evaluate vendor proposals and the overall cost-effectiveness of procurement activities. (Required)
- Change Management- Skills in leading change within the procurement department to adopt new processes and technologies effectively. (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications:
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)- Certification from APICS that demonstrates knowledge in supply chain management and procurement processes. (Preferred)
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)- Certification from the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) that indicates expertise in supply management and procurement. (Preferred)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)- Internationally recognized certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) that demonstrates proficiency in project management, useful for managing procurement projects. (Preferred)

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
