SUMMARY:

A journeyman is a trained electrician who has completed an electrician apprenticeship. Reaching a journey level requires many hours of training and a license. As a journeyman, you can work independently on certain projects, such as service work, installing outlets or fixtures or correcting electrical malfunctions. Journeyman electrician must be expert in electrical code and electrical systems in order to perform their job safely. This can vary depending on their specialty but may include using power tools, repairing wires and applying knowledge of safety procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. All of the following are to be performed while adhering to Tree Top operational policies, safety rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices.

It is the responsibility of every employee at Tree Top Inc. to report food safety and food quality problems or risks to personnel with the authority to initiate action against these said possible risks. The Organization chart indicated key personnel with the authority to take action.

Perform Routine and Preventative Maintenance:



  • Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
  • Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
  • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit.
  • Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
  • Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels
  • Responsible for the ongoing maintenance of all equipment within the plant including, heat and air conditioning.
  • Required to take initiative as an individual to identify and solve problems, and work in a team approach with the maintenance, production and other groups.
  • Examines parts visually, magnified and by touch to detect imperfections.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Determines cause of problems and decides on corrective action, both temporary and long term fixes.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to take on Electrical Apprentice


Maintain a Clean, Safe Work Area:



  • Remove all tools and equipment when finished
  • Observe Confined Space Entry Procedures.
  • Observe Hot Work Permit Procedures.
  • Observe Emergency Evacuation Procedures
  • Observe Hazardous Material Policies
  • Sweep floors and remove debris
  • Keep work area clean and rinse when necessary
  • Follow proper handling procedures when working with chemicals
  • Follow- Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Annual Master Sanitation Schedules
  • Maintains area of responsibility to meet GMP standards
  • Follow LOTO (lock out/ tag out) procedures when necessary


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:



  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Four-year position related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Journeyman Electrician Washington State License issued by Washington Labor & Industries
  • Knowledge of WA Electrical Code
  • Ability to communicate professionally


LANGUAGE SKILLS:



  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, statistical correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple to complex correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, other employees of TreeTop.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:



  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:



  • Driver's License


TECHNOLOGICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • GMP-training and understanding of standards
  • HAZCOM/HAZCAT training
  • MSDS

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for making machine adjustments and completing paperwork, distance vision to observe line operation and safety, color vision for color coded equipment, peripheral vision for safety and machine operation and repair, depth perception for safety and machine operation and repair, and the ability to adjust focus for safety and machine operation and repair.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is/or could be exposed to: Extreme heat, moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, electrical shock, high precarious positions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, all weather conditions, vibrations, and loud noise.


The noise level in the work environment is loud and sometimes very load due to machine operation adjustments.
