Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of STEAM Pathways, to perform professional social and educational services to Cicero School District 6th through 12th grade students and their families under the 21st CCLC grant of NEIU.

Job Description:

  • Supports the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of STEM academic activities, social and/or educational programs for bilingual students and families grades 6th through 12th (Spanish).

  • Supports the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of social and/or educational programs for bilingual students and families grades 6th through 12th (Spanish).

  • Interviews and assesses the needs of individuals to be served by the program(s) based on knowledge of 21st CCLC grants.

  • Acts as support liaison between the NEIU and School District administration, School administration and the individuals served.

  • Collaborates with other professional staff members in meeting the individual needs of program participants.

  • Prepares and maintains necessary records and reports for 21st CCLC grant.

  • Develops advertising and publicity for the program(s) using digital tools.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimal Qualifications:

1.High school graduation or GED

2.Any one or any combination that equals four (4) years/ 48 months of responsible volunteer or professional work experience in coordinating educational and/or community programs or activities

A. Volunteer/work experience coordinating educational and/or community programs or activities

B. College coursework in any field of study

  • 60 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)

  • 90 semester hours equals three (3) years (36 months)

  • 120 semester hours or more equals four (4) years (48 months)

3. Fluent in Spanish.

DEPARTMENTAL PREFERENCES:

1. Working knowledge of working in a Latino Community, like the town of Cicero.

2. Experience of at least 1 year working with elementary school students.

3. Experience of at least 1 year working with 21st CCLC grants of ISBE.

4. Experience of at least 1 year supervising student aids/tutors/instructors.

5. Experience of at least 1 year collecting, managing and producing data reports.

6. Experience of at least 1 year delivering STEM after school activities to elementary school students.

Hourly: $22.00

This position requires a background check.
