About the MultiCare Cancer Institute The MultiCare Cancer Institute is a physician led institute within the MultiCare Health System with multi-specialty partnership across hematology/oncology, radiation, surgical and supportive oncology service lines. We diagnose and treat more than 6,000 new cancer cases per year and span the state of Washington from Olympia, Spokane, Tacoma and Yakima. Our team and state-of-the-art programs create a world-class health care organization and the destination center for complex, disease-specific cancer care, advanced pathology and imaging support, and holistic supportive oncology care. Position Summary MultiCare Health System is seeking a Hematologist to join an established and expanding virtual and in-person benign hematology clinic in the beautiful Inland Northwest Region of Washington State. Here, you'll find everything you need to excel in your job including outstanding virtual technologies, comprehensive resources and talented teammates in partnering for healing and a healthy future.Practicing within a high-quality, patient-centered program, you'll deliver compassionate, evidence-based care through telemedicine, guiding patients through every stage of their hematologic health journey.Responsibilities *Diagnose and management of non-malignant blood disorders such as anemia, thrombocytopenia, and clotting or bleeding conditions. *Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans based on clinical presentation, laboratory findings, and patient goals *Collaborate with surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care. *Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and imaging. *Provide clear, compassionate communication about diagnosis, treatment options, side effects, and prognosis. *Document all patient interactions and clinical decisions in the electronic medical record (EMR). *Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging treatments, guidelines, and technologies through continuing medical education and professional development. *Participate in clinical trials or research initiatives aimed at improving surgical outcomes and techniques (if applicable). *Participate in tumor boards, care conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.
