Job Title: Data Engineer Lead

Location: 1000 Omega Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205

Job Description: Design scalable and robust solutions, implement, deploy, and support GDPP's In Transit Delivery Estimates (ITDE) and Shipment Visibility Webhooks and Predictive Delivery Estimates (PDE) APIs. Build tools, platforms, and pipelines to enable teams to analyze data, build models and drive decisions clearly and cleanly. Scale up from "laptop-scale" to "cluster scale" problems, in terms of both infrastructure and problem structure and technique. Oversee the data integration from various sources, both internal and external, into the organization's data systems and ensure data quality and consistency. Identify the performance bottlenecks in data pipelines & application services and optimize the data processing and storage for efficiency. Collaborate across teams to drive the generation of data driven operational insights that translate to high value optimized solutions. Deliver tangible value very rapidly, collaborating with diverse teams of varying backgrounds and disciplines.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent* in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics or Engineering plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or 7 years of experience in equivalent work experience in measurement and analysis, quantitative business problem solving, simulation development and/or predictive analytics. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics or Engineering plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years of experience in equivalent work experience in measurement and analysis, quantitative business problem solving, simulation development and/or predictive analytics.in lieu of a Master's degree plus 3 years of experience. The position requires experience with: Knowledge of cloud-native platforms (eg: Azure) and cloud-based data storage. Proficiency in programming languages (eg: Python, Java, or Scala), SQL databases (eg: MYSQL) and NoSQL databases (eg: Redis). A related advanced degree may offset the related experience requirements.

Position allows for telecommuting from home within commuting distance of Pittsburgh, PA. *Employer will accept one (1) year of directly related experience in lieu of one (1) year of education.*
