As an Installation Consultant, you will oversee and perform the installation and configuration of equipment and systems related to IT infrastructure, hardware, and networks. You will act as the primary technical point of contact for clients and project team members on IT-related subjects such as networking, servers, and client hardware. What you will be doing:
- Remotely coordinate and perform billable IT systems and/or component installation of SaaS and on-prem solutions, performing technical research of existing customer environments to determine the best approach, primarily in retail environments.
- Dispatch, coordinate, and schedule third-party onsite technicians as needed, providing quality telephone guidance with a high degree of customer service, product expertise, and timeliness.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and oversee repairs of defective equipment during installation, meeting monthly billable revenue/time utilization goals as defined by management.
- Keep track of billable and non-billable project hours, generating invoicing, and promoting adherence to IT security and data loss prevention strategies.
- Assist clients in designing/defining network topology and IP subnet design, educating them on site readiness requirements such as power, network, and ISP.
- Achieve and maintain required industry certifications as defined by management (such as Dell), building and maintaining strong relationships with customers to generate positive satisfaction survey scores.
- Identify issues and risks, reporting to the manager, and performing other duties as assigned.
What you will likely bring:
- 3+ years of applicable experience and demonstrated success/knowledge in multiple general IT areas, such as SaaS, servers, client PCs, operating systems, printers, TCP/IP, and strong troubleshooting methodology and skills
- 2+ years of specialized retail industry experience preferred.
- Experience in deploying Retail technology equipment including POS and Credit Card devices is a plus.
- Experience with business class routers, firewalls, and site-to-site VPNs is a plus.
- High school diploma required, with a bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience).

- Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills, with the ability to think critically and analyze information to solve difficult technical problems.
- Ability to convey knowledge and instruction in easy-to-understand terms to non-technical clients, guiding end-users and onsite technicians through complex technical situations.
- Ability to install and configure mobile platforms including Android and iOS, with a customer-centric, results-oriented, self-starter attitude, and the ability to work independently.
- Self-driven and motivated to schedule and complete work with minimal supervision.
