Description

The Systems Engineer Summer Intern will work alongside the Engineering Team at the Charleston location, gaining hands-on experience in systems engineering. This role involves assisting with system design, analysis, and testing, as well as contributing to software development projects.

Key Responsibilities:

    Assisting in the design and analysis of engineering systems
  • Participating in system modeling and simulation activities
  • Supporting software development efforts, including coding and testing
  • Collaborating with team members to understand project requirements and deliverables
  • Documenting work performed and maintain project records
  • Attending team meetings and contribute to discussions
  • Learning and applying systems engineering principles and methodologies

Environment: The intern will work in a dynamic, collaborative environment with a team of experienced engineers. The role involves working on real-world projects and gaining valuable hands-on experience in systems engineering. The intern must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be comfortable with a fast-paced work environment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a rising junior in a Bachelor's degree program in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong academic record with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Basic understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologies
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java
  • Familiarity with software development tools and version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities


Desired Skills

  • Experience with system modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink)
  • Knowledge of network protocols and network security
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Basic understanding of hardware and software integration

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AND ELIGIBILITY FOR A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL
