BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors.
Position Summary
BB&E is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our team, supporting the Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) onsite at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, HI. The position involves working on both classified and unclassified networks for the U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense (DoD).
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Advise Site Security Manager for construction areas that are of higher security
- Perform design and construction management
- Interact with senior engineering professionals from multiple disciplines
- Work with codes, standards, design and construction requirements for renovation of a historic administrative facility, Secret Open Storage Areas (SOSA), and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF)
Key Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship and an active DoD Secret Security Clearance and an active TS/SCI clearance are required
- Certification: A Professional Engineering license (PE) in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is required
- Knowledge
- Must be highly experienced with codes, standards, design, and construction requirements related to SOSA and SCIF
- Experienced directly supporting creation and technical expertise regarding non-advisory and assistance contracts, including SRM, SRM-like, MILCON, or other repair and renovation contracts for the Air Force or DoD agency
- Experienced working as a site security manager and the development of construction security plans
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Software: Proficiency using MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Self-Starter: Highly motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines autonomously
Experience & Education
- Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years' experience as an engineer doing design and construction management interacting with senior engineering professionals from multiple disciplines, including a minimum of three (3) years of experience working at Air Force MAJCOM, numbered Air Force, or Field Operating Agency-level programs, directly supporting management in planning and programming activities is required
- Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an ABET (The Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc.) accredited Engineering college is required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand/walk/climb/kneel/crouch and remain in a stationary position/sit at least 60% of the time
- Ability to operate office equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc.
- Capable of light lifting, under 10 lbs.
