Were seeking a future team member in the role of Director, Quality/Automation Engineering Lead to join our Conventional Debt Engineering team. This role will be based out of New York, NY and will require candidates to be onsite and follow 4 days HYBRID schedule.

The ideal candidate will lead a medium sized team to drive Quality Engineering and testing across multiple initiatives with a focus on automation. Implements best practices, tools, policies and procedures and possesses extensive knowledge of popular automation tools and frameworks.

In this role, youll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Lead and manage a medium sized group of quality engineers to develop automated testing capability
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, Ranorex, and frameworks such as JUnit and Cucumber.
  • Integrate automation tools and frameworks into the testing process efficiently.
  • Owns creation of the Test Strategy approach and Test plans for the group(s)
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and develop comprehensive test plans.
  • Perform functional, regression, and performance testing to ensure the quality and stability of the software.
  • Manage and collaborate on test scripts using version control systems such as Git.
  • Utilize GitLab CI/CD for automating the deployment and testing process, ensuring continuous integration and delivery.
  • Identify, document, and track defects, and work with developers to resolve issues.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback from a testing perspective.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies.
  • Adheres to quality engineering best practices and also promotes the same across the group(s) enabling consistency of Automation Tools and Practices being adopted
  • Represents quality engineering for the group in SteerCo calls, daily scrum meetings, backlog grooming, PI planning sessions
  • Defines and maintains highly complex test system configurations and writes test scripts for complex integrated systems in large scale project
  • Implement strategic procedures and policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
  • Analyze the most complex systems requirements and resolve the most complex problems detected in testing
  • Analyze the effectiveness of the use of technology in QA processes and recommend new products aligned with market trends and company needs
  • Provide guidance and expertise in the development of reports, communications, and training materials, ensuring recommendations are aligned with customer/organization needs and capabilities

To be successful in this role, were seeking the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred
  • 12+ years of experience in a systems quality environment required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
  • Experience in managing a team of exceptional quality engineers and quality engineering leads
  • Experience in owning and executing Quality Assurance testing for complex end to end projects
  • In-depth knowledge of automation tools like Selenium and Ranorex, and frameworks such as JUnit and Cucumber.
  • Experienced in creating and executing Test Strategies and Test Plan for large and complex programs
  • Experienced in agile methodologies and practices. Strong collaboration and teamwork skills in Agile PODs
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Proficient in various Testing types such as Integration, System, Functional, Regression, Sanity, Smoke, User-interface (GUI), Data base, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Ad-hoc API Testing and Performance Testing
  • Experience in automation and non-functional testing
  • Expert in managing all phases of Software development life cycle with emphasis on quality testing
  • Strong test management capabilities
  • Must have deep knowledge of various testing methodologies, QE terminology and processes
  • Must be able to demonstrate both foresight and flexibility in managing the testing of multiple simultaneous projects

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $100,000 and $220,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and company- sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
