SUMMARY

The Manager provides oversees persons who are deaf/hard of hearing and diagnosed with developmental and/or physical disabilities. They will implement a service plan and other habilitation programs. They will facilitate and promote community integration and will assist in day-to-day site management with minimal supervision. They will orient and schedule Supportive Living Service Support Staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Management and Supervisory



  • Provide supervision to the ASL Fluent Lead Support Staff and ASL Fluent Support Staff.
  • Participate in the hiring process including, conducting interviews, completing interview notes, preparing new hire paperwork, etc. and working closely with the Human Resources Department to recruit staff for identified openings.
  • Ensure that all new staff members are oriented to the sites, attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and complete all required in-service training.
  • Provide ongoing supervision, training, and support to all staff members as needed.
  • Ensure that all staff receives required training as per their job description and duties - including essential in-service training, program specific training, site-specific training and individual specific training.
  • Complete all introductory and annual staff evaluations.
  • Ensure that schedule is filled with staff that meet the requirements for appropriate and valid credentials and certifications as needed - i.e., PMT, CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration, Abuse and Neglect, etc.


Program



  • Maintain comprehensive and updated case records for individuals on caseload ensuring current demographic, medical, programmatic and other information. This includes ensuring that all reports are present and that demographic sheet is updated at least annually or when changes occur during the year.
  • Ensures the following assessments are completed annually: supported living, self administration of medication, quality of life, recreation, satisfaction survey and risk assessment to generate recommendations for Individual Planning. Ensure that each ASL Fluent SLS Support Staff carries out his/her responsibilities with regard to this function.


  • Operates motor vehicles safely and in accordance with State Law (agency and personal automobiles) while on work related duties. Will be required to drive own vehicle for work.



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE



  • Master's Degree or Bachelor's degreein Human Services, Special Education or related field is preferred. Experience working with persons with chronic mental health issues, developmental disabilities, acquired brain injuries and other disabilities in a community based day orresidential program.A high school diploma/GEDand four years of progressive human service experienceacceptedin lieu of degree. Fluency in American Sign Language strongly preferred.



SCHEDULE



  • Su-Tu/Th 9a-5p, W 11a-7p



SALARY



  • $22.59/hr. After 6 months, rate increases to $23.11/hr.
