General Purpose of Job

The primary focus for Software Quality Analyst will be manually testing for one or more agile development teams while striving to gain expertise in various testing techniques and approaches. For each project the goal is to provide confidence through testing that the functionality developed meets the functional and non-functional requirements defined. Testers will report, track and confirm bug fixes before software is deployed to Production.

This role also assists the Product Owner in gathering and documenting requirements, as well as providing the defined QA documentation required to support the Configuration Management Process guidelines.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities (Daily and Monthly)

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner so that you get along with stakeholders, co-workers, and management.
  • Responsible for the security of workstation and work area regarding the confidentiality of the data and the systems
  • Review Employee Handbook for changes and updates
  • Assist the Product Owner in gathering and documenting requirements for assigned projects.
    • Ensure the story requirements are clearly defined, documented, in the appropriate tracking issue (i.e. JIRA)
    • Ensure the project's direction is clearly defined.
    • Ensure functional design specifications are clearly defined and documented
  • Ensure functionality is met via manual testing or other test approaches while properly documenting to the Configuration Management Process for each project
    • Document and define test plans.
    • Document, define and execute test cases based on software requirements and technical specifications.
    • Document and report test results and store in appropriate configuration item library
    • Create and track defects.

* Detect software failures and have the ability to research and isolate the source of the defect so it may be corrected.

  • Work closely with developers in communicating and confirming resolution of defects.
  • Communicate test results and progress for assigned projects.
  • Confirm success of deployment of assigned projects on the morning of release to production.
  • Assist Product Owner in facilitating User Testing and User Training as needed.
  • Create regression test cases.
  • Assist with testing Web related projects (as needed)
  • Follow 508 Accessibility and WCAG 2.0 testing guidelines.
  • Other duties deemed necessary.
