Dr. Gerdemann's research lab is a young, dynamic and innovative laboratory embedded within the larger CTSI research community at Boston Children's Hospital, focusing on the mechanisms of cancer-directed T cell therapeutics, including chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) engineered T cells.
Our research employs a diverse range of in vivo and in vitro models, including state-of-the-art non-human primate models of transplantation and CAR T cell therapy, patient-derived samples, and xenogeneic human-to-mouse cancer models to perform detailed mechanistic studies. This work has led to the identification of novel immune pathologies in CAR T cell therapy. Position Overview We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to join our cellular therapy research team to advance CAR T cell therapeutics with the goal of translating key findings into clinical applications for pediatric oncology.
