Summary: Goldbelt C6, LLC., is seeking a responsible and professional Computer Programmer III to provide information management support services to the CDC's Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP). This support is to help enhance infection control practices and ensure related and interdependent functions and disciplines are incorporated throughout tasks to contribute to achieving DHQP's mission and program goals.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain (program new and/or update existing) DHQP internet websites using the WCMS.
- Ensure all programming follows CDC web policy including specific web standards and guidance developed by OADC, the CDC Web Council, and NCEZID web team.
- Ensure webpages, PDFs, and videos meet HHS 508 compliance; remediate if necessary.
- Use SharePoint for workflow/task management.
- Assist with Adobe Campaign subscription topics; format and disseminate Adobe Campaign messages.
- Format and post SafeHealthcare blog entries.
- Caption short videos and coordinate posting of all videos on CDC's YouTube channel via the WCMS.
- Provide robust web metrics upon request and maintain Campaign tracking codes and RSS feeds.
- Implement syndication coding requests and corrections.
- Maintain the web archive/backup for the division's web content.
- Run broken link reports on 1-2 websites per month so that each site is checked at least once per year.
- Maintain a secure FTP site for the division.
- Serve as a point of contact for the Center's stock photo account.
- Document all procedures to enable a subsequent programmer to make changes as may be required; and to facilitate web QA and publishing by the Center web team.
- Proactively identify, research, and resolve problems or issues; participate in team strategy session to discuss solutions. Proactively recommend updated strategies to improve efficiency or present techniques.
- Participate in meetings and assist DHQP communications team and provide meeting updates/summary to relevant team members.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse set of government and commercial stakeholders on technical contracts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, leadership, teamwork, management, and interpersonal skills.
- Skilled in performing research using internet, email, databases, and computer software.
- Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to derive innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Applications (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years' experience as a Computer Programmer.
- Minimum 3+ years' experience in a Programming or IT related Field
- Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or related field.
