Posting Summary
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Receptionist for the Pediatrics Department within New Jersey Medical School.

The primary purpose of the Receptionist position isto work under the direction of the head clerk and in accordance with WIC policies and procedures, provides clerical client services to WIC enrolled women who are pregnant, postpartum or breast feeding, and to infants and children up to age five (5). Issues checks, makes clinic appointments and provides front desk support for client check-in. Performs all duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the Service Excellence.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Answers the telephone, checks voice mail messages and returns calls in a timely manner as necessary.
  • Inputs all WIC related data into WIC database, as required.
  • Makes face-to-face and telephone appointments using both the WOW scheduler and the site specific appointment template.
  • Receives WIC participants at the front desk, checks them into WIC database and ensures that participants have the necessary documents to receive services for which they are presenting.
  • Benefit Issuance in accordance with WIC policies and procedures. Requests participants to complete the Customer Services Satisfaction Survey and submits completed surveys to supervisor, when needed.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED and one to three (1-3) full years of clerical experience performing data entry activities, database maintenance and general office services support, preferably in a health care services setting.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have good communication and organizational skills.
  • The ability to speak Spanish or Creole, is an asset.
