- Processing bi-weekly payroll and special payrolls as required and reviewing bi-weekly payroll for new hire direct deposit and tax information
- Processing out- of-cycle checks, manual checks, and reversals when necessary; Setting up out-of-sequence payrolls and calculating and processing special payments as needed
- Reviewing and processing payroll related information received from HR/Benefits/IT; Responding to requests from HR/PDR including employment, compensation, and unemployment
- Entering Benefit PDE payroll adjustment/corrections; Running UNUM deduction report; Updating parking deductions in each office
- Maintaining the New York Family Leave Insurance spreadsheet
- Generating and auditing (after payroll processing) 401(k) and 401(k) loan reports; Comparing 401(k) audit report with report generated by Payroll Manager
- Processing and maintaining annual salary reduction schedule for Lawyers and Legal Professionals
- Preparing and maintaining salary increase spreadsheet for Legal Professionals (Paralegals); Preparing and maintaining bonus spreadsheet for Lawyers and Legal Professionals; Preparing YE adjustment payroll
- Running salary pro-ration processes
- Reviewing and importing Kronos files for Paralegals and Business Professionals; Processing Kronos Snapshot files for Paralegals and Business Professionals
- Creating check requests for payroll funding, tax impound, and 401(k); Processing check requests in ChromeRiver
- Creating data bridges, pay data views and pay data batches for payroll processing
- Training and assisting with Timekeeping system - Kronos
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding all payroll and compensation matters

The successful candidate will demonstrate...
- A minimum of 3 years of payroll experience; Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
- Experience with ADP HCM required
- Proficient knowledge and usage of a time and attendance system, preferably UKG Kronos
- Familiarity with federal and state laws relating to payroll
- Proficient knowledge of Excel
- Intermediate mathematical reconciliation skills
- Ability to communicate in both oral and written form with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Flexibility to work after hours and weekends as needed
Pay Range for Candidates in Baltimore: $72,000 - $78,000 per year The range provided is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position.
