Position Summary
THIS IS A TIME-LIMITED POSITION WITH AN ESTIMATED DURATION OF 1 YEAR.

The Lazear Laboratory seeks a research technician to contribute to our research program in virology and viral pathogenesis. The Research Technician will support the overall research of the lab by assisting with mouse husbandry as contributing to virology and molecular biology experiments, including contributing to experimental procedures and collecting data. As directed, the Research Technician will conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, and collaborate with other lab members to advance the lab's research goals. The Research Technician will assist with lab management tasks such as maintaining records and managing supplies. All Lazear Lab members are expected to conduct their work with the highest integrity and to maintain a collegial working environment.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience working in a biomedical and/or molecular biology laboratory. Able to follow procedures to work safely in a laboratory setting, including with infectious agents, able to work independently and as part of a team. Strong written and oral communication skills. High standards of integrity, conscientiousness, and responsibility. Strong academic record in relevant coursework. Experience with mouse breeding and working with laboratory mice. Experience working with viral infections in cell culture and in animal models. Track record of advancing a research project.
