About the role

The Stop Loss Actuarial Pricing team is looking for an actuarial student to focus on the evaluation of healthcare network data as a key component of our rating algorithm.

What you will do



  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from both internal and external sources to assess the strength of various major medical networks
  • Conduct regular audits of rated networks to contribute to profitable growth
  • Collaborate internally with Underwriting and Sales teams
  • Maintain and enhance claims and hospital contract evaluation models
  • Make process improvements and build new tools as technology evolves
  • Assist in the annual rate manual update process
  • Continue to develop industry knowledge and understand our book of business
  • Participate in the Actuarial Student Program to pass exams and achieve your actuarial designation

Compensation

Salary Range:$77,600 - $129,400 plus eligibility for annual bonus programs

Who you are



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with strong quantitative background including college level mathematics
  • 2 years of actuarial experience, Stop Loss knowledge preferred
  • 3+ actuarial exams completed, prior to attaining your ASA
  • Committed to self-development, attaining industry knowledge, and passing actuarial exams to earn your FSA
  • Effective communicator including technical writing
  • Skilled at working collaboratively
  • Experience with Python, SQL, and Snowflake strongly preferred
  • High school diploma required
