Position Summary Information


Primary Purpose
Reports to the Assistant Vice President for SF Campus Technology Services; provides quality customer service in the area of audio visual, desktop computer, application, network and printer support to the University Center and the Dental School administrators, faculty, staff, and students.

Essential Functions

  • Perform day-to-day audio visual (AV) support, including scheduling, end-user coordination training, and troubleshooting audio visual, lecture capture, digital signage and video conference systems.
  • Provides on the phone, on-line and in-person technical support and guidance to faculty, staff and students with Windows and Mac OS X hardware, applications, mobile devices, printing and network issues. Clinic Sensors Sets-up: Dexis Titanium, etc. Configures, trouble shoots, upgrades desktops and peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot issues to include but not limited to software, applications, desktops, laptops, mobile devices, AV systems, lecture capture systems, digital signage systems, videoconference systems, networks and printers.
  • Perform major systems upgrades, failed equipment replacement, new OS installs, image computers and computer management as needed.
  • Uses help desk request system and provides help desk services as part of a support team. Redirect problems to appropriate resource.
  • Administer and maintain Digital Signage TVs and software (Add Power, ConnectedSign).
  • Remain up to date on new technologies, tools and applications related to this position.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President for SF Campus Technology Services.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of:

  • Audio visual systems, video conferencing, lecture capture and digital signage (Crestron AV controls, Cisco TMS, Sonic Foundry Media site, SVSi, Just Add Power)
  • 2.Computer management systems, personal computers, operating systems and related applications. (Windows 7/8, Mac OS X, Windows mobile/iOS/Android, Microsoft Office, iWork, JAMF Casper, Microsoft SCCM).


Ability to:

  • Provide effective training on innovations in technology.
  • Manage time, organize duties/assignments, and set priorities to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Work effectively and accurately with multiple interruptions.
  • Take initiative in the organization and maintenance of departmental responsibilities, projects, and procedures.
  • Work productively under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality of information.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail, problem solving, judgment, customer service and follow-through skills.
  • Project a professional image, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and communicate in a collegial and professional manner with administrators, faculty, staff, residents and students.

Experience:

  • Minimum of three years in an audio visual support role. Minimum of two years desktop/network support within Windows and Mac environments.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in audio visual support role.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or combination of education and experience.
Working Conditions:

  • Position is full-time, eight hours per day, five days per week, evening and weekend hours.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Physical Requirements

  • Work performed primarily in a general office and classroom/conference room environment.
  • Exposure to cooler temperatures and noise within a server room environment can be anticipated.
  • Position requires sitting, standing and walking a majority of working hours with occasional bending, stooping, squatting, reaching and grasping.
  • Frequent use of computer keyboard and telephone.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Hiring Range $31.44 - $41.64 per hour. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
