Primary Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Technician will support the Pre-Production Process and take initiative to recognize and address project issues by making changes to improve how work is done. Support Pre-Production with quoting and processing, achieving realization of estimated costs, on-time delivery of materials and information, improved productivity and workflow, and reduction in errors and rework thru cost reduction projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management Skills including but not limited to;
- Preparing estimates for customer products and services in accordance with company methods and procedures.
- Process new customer orders and track their progress through all phases of the manufacturing process.
- Utilize CAD/CAM to generate and interpret shop floor drawings and 3D models. (ACAD Mechanical or ACAD Inventor)
- Calculate dimensions and allowances in accordance with established drafting practices and alter drawings to suit engineering changes, D&S processes and to meet customer specifications.
Process Improvement and Lean Principles including but not limited to;
- Supports the Pre-Production process to achieve Realization of Estimated Costs on new and existing orders; and works closely with shop floor operators to ensure overall product and process success thru REC Projects.
- Use Lean Principles and tools to compare actual costs with estimates, analyze problems and variations, diagnose probable causes and provide troubleshooting solutions, and report findings with recommendations as required and/or implement cost-effective solutions in order to improve processes, quality and efficiencies.

Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree in Manufacturing or related field; or equivalent work experience.
Preferred experience in a manufacturing environment involving metal fabrication, machining, welding, painting, and assembly.
Preferred experience or knowledge which demonstrates drawing interpretation; e.g., orthographic projection and tolerancing.
Preferred experience or knowledge of manufacturing engineering techniques and lean concepts.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
