Bringing Home the Dough

Salary range - $60,000 - $70,000 / yr. DOE.

Responsible for supporting the payroll accounting manager with the accounting side of payroll processing, including policies and procedures, tax notification, quarterly and annual report filings, and ensuring that company-wide payroll practices meet IRS and State compliance regulations. Requires constant interaction with Corp HRSS, Corp HR, Corp Tax, Corp Risk Management, Controllers, R2R Shared Accounting and other departments at the primary work location.

Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities
  • Day-to-day responsibility for answering controller's calls regarding payroll, payroll taxes, and garnishments
  • Clean up and monitor the process for weekly reconciliation of the payroll processing cycle
  • Ensure that what goes through the HR side of SAP is properly accounted for on the FI side of SAP
  • Run reports associated with Weekly, Periodic, Quarterly, and Year End Tasks
  • Review the weekly incoming mail and handle required follow-up actions/correspondence
  • Research and resolve GL Tax Accounts variances
  • Assist with reviewing and resolving ADP Payroll Exceptions
  • Upload agency notices received into ADP and add to Open Issues Tracker
  • Prepare and post Journal Entries in BlackLine
  • Prepare and communicate the Weekly Tax estimate to Treasury
  • Prepare GL Tax accounts recons in BlackLine
  • Run the Distributor FICA Program Adhoc
  • Assist with reconciling and keying the periodic ADP Tax Impounds
  • Handle plant notification of ADP tax drafts/garnishments.
  • Research Federal Withholdings, State Withholdings, and State Unemployment notices
  • Assist with preparing monthly filings
  • Assist with monitoring T&C ShareFile for POAs and Audit requests
  • Follow up on W2Cs Refunds from prior year(s)
  • Assist with registering new Local jurisdictions
  • Assist with registering new State Withholding and Unemployment accounts
  • Assist with follow-up and resolving items on the Open Issues Tracker
  • Audit State Unemployment Tax Rates for all locations annually
  • Assist with the quarter-end tax reconciliation process
  • Assist with Processing W2s and W2Cs - Employees & Distributors
  • Process quarterly earnings adjustments/prizes/moving expenses
  • Assist with Internal and External Audit Requests
Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years' of experience in payroll accounting tax filing, including quarterly and annual reporting requirements for local, state, and federal jurisdictions
  • SAP, ADP payroll processing, and BlackLine experience a plus
