JOB SUMMARY


  • Assist Project Manager to complete estimate for selected project with detailed review of proposal specifications, drawings, takeoff information, and contracting.
  • Estimated Internship Timeframe: 6/1/25 thru 8/8/25.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



  • Completion of one or more years toward a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.


  • Equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience are also acceptable.
  • Introductory knowledge of the various aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, engineering, estimating, schedules, and safety required.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS


  • Must have a safe driving record and a valid driver's license according to legal requirements.


KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES


  • Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in using various Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and supervisory skills are essential.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Assist Project Manager to complete estimate for selected project with detailed review of proposal specifications, drawings, takeoff information, and contracting.
  • Assist in construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, codes & standards, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, other contractors, etc.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating on-site functions (scheduling, engineering, material control, and may provide day-to-day direction of onsite administrative staff in accounting, purchasing, etc.).
  • Assist in investigating any situations with potential project impacts, mitigate wherever possible and initiate correcting actions as necessary.
  • Assist in communicating with craft employees by working closely with the on-site foreman or general foreman. May have to supervise the work of other contractors as required by the contract.
  • Provide technical assistance (i.e., interpretations of drawings and recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required). Initiate and maintain extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
  • Assist the overseeing Project Manager with the productivity of crafts, the efficient use of material and equipment, and the contractual performance of the project.
  • Ensure that all on-site employees follow the company's safety initiatives. Investigate, report, and correct any safety-related incidents.
  • Safely drive various vehicles. Obtain, as necessary, all moving permits, licenses, titles, safety checks, etc., as required by corporate policy, state or federal regulations, or client requirements.
  • This position is required to drive.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
