Salesforce Inc. seeks Director, Infrastructure Engineering in San Francisco, CA:

Job Duties: Build and operate highly scalable and secure Infrastructure including Microservices Platform for Salesforce. Define Microservices platform Operation team's charter and measures of success and ensure the teams are on track to meet the goals. Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Accomplish results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling employees. Developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards. Convert the roadmap into goals (release planning), further split them into smaller tasks (sprint planning), divide the tasks across the team and drive them to completion. Manage the teams responsible for providing 24/7 operations support. Define and setup necessary monitoring using Salesforce monitoring tools. Consult with internal customers to propose and architect newer infrastructure solutions on forthcoming requirements. Respond to production alerts and assist in diagnosis and troubleshooting. Define the processes for performing regular software releases using Salesforce's release and deployment tools and automation frameworks and responsible for executing them. Train the SRE Team to do first level troubleshooting of microservice platform production alerts and performing software releases. HQ address additionally encompasses the following Salesforce locations in San Francisco: 350 Mission Street, 415 Mission Street, and 50 Fremont Street. The permanent position may be offered at any of these locations in San Francisco. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Salesforce offices may be required.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field, OR Bachelor's degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline, and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related field.

A related technical degree required (Computer Science, Engineering (any field)).

Special Skill Requirements: (1) Linux; (2) Python, Ruby or Perl; (3) BigData technologies - Hadoop, Hbase, Hive, or Spark; (4) LDAP; (5) Chef or Puppet; (6) Virtual Envornments-Vmware or KVM; (7) Monitoring Frameworks like Nagios, Graphite or Zabbix; and (8) TCP/IP. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable. Telecommuting is an option. Some travel to Salesforce offices may be required.

Salary: $273,915.00 - $334,600.00 per annum.
