HX5 is currently seeking a Cyber and Network Architect to support the HNI Division at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Shall direct and coordinate tasks for the Systems Interoperability and Integration Engineer SMEs, Cyberspace Defense Analysis Multi-Domain Cyber Security SMEs, and work with other SMEs as needed in the execution of Divisional technical execution needs.
  • Shall have comprehensive knowledge and be proficient in understanding policies and procedures related to Cybersecurity as defined in DoDI 8500.01, Cybersecurity, DoDI 8510.01.
  • Shall perform work that involves the analysis, planning, design, implementation, documentation, assessment, and management of the enterprise structural framework to align IT strategy, plans, and systems with the mission, goals, structure, and processes of the organization.
  • Shall have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of principles, policies and practices of systems architecture and engineering principles as well as a knowledge of roles and relationships within the DoD and the Air Force to provide systems engineering support, as outlined in Defense Acquisition Guidebook Chapter 3, in support of furthering system mission capabilities.
  • Shall support and develop technical reports, including statutory and regulatory reports (i.e., TEMs, MARs, etc.). The Contractor must be able to support technical program management reviews and senior level meeting/reviews.
  • Shall be able to support and develop various briefings/schedules of program status and acquisition tasks, representing the voice of the Chief Engineer in his absence.
  • Help develop division scope of work alignment with actionable recommendations based on industry best practices and reference Systems Design and Architecture.
  • Act as SME for Hybrid and multi-cloud compute & store roadmap to assist in operation of unit in both connected and disconnected states.
  • Must have knowledge of qualitative and quantitative techniques for gathering, analyzing, and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of acquisition programs as well as the ability to visualize and understand complex requirements and interdependencies of a wide variety of ACAT I programs and IT infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with a diverse group of multi-MAJCOM stakeholders, at the classified and unclassified level, to determine specific technical needs and requirements and present technical solutions to include oversight and task execution utilizing leadership, teamwork, and diplomacy and senior levels of the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve enterprise-level systems to support business processes and utilize emerging technologies.
  • Develop reference models of the enterprise and maintain the information in the IT repository.
  • Determine the gaps between the current and the target architecture and recommending plans for transitioning to target architecture.
  • Recommend the policies and principles to guide technology decisions for the enterprise architecture.
  • Coordinate and conduct governance and portfolio management activities associated with ensuring compliance with the enterprise architecture; and/or ensuring the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices to all components of the enterprise architecture.
  • Work with the Identity, credentials, and access management (ICAM) team to ensure cross division and cloud usability, both in the connected and disconnected state.
  • Work to plan out and execute an executable DAF Zero Trust plan and roadmap.
  • Work to put the division on the path of modernization specifically with regard to the divisions Digital Engineering using SysML.

Education and Experience:

Must have the following education and experience:

  • Master's or Doctorate degree in related field and at least ten (10) years of relevant experience, five (5) of which must be in the DoD.

Other Position Requirements:

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance by date of hire.
  • Must be able to travel, including air travel.
