About the Role

MWH is currently seeking an Assistant Controller to support company operations from Bromfield, CO.

Essential Functions

The following duties are typical for this position and are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.



  • Perform and/or review consolidations and general ledger accounting and oversee reconciliations within a complex legal structure.
  • Work with regional & international operations to ensure timely reporting, quality of data and effectiveness of internal control systems.
  • Assist in the preparation of the required monthly internal and external financial reports.
  • Work with Controller and the GL Lead to provide direction to accounting staff to ensure the proper booking of all monthly GL entries, the timely close of monthly ledgers, and the full reconciliation of all general ledger balances.
  • Assist with day-to-day company treasury functions including cash, internal and external borrowings, and corporate credit card programs.
  • Assist in annual external audits.
  • Assist in quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting process.
  • Assist with in-service training and development of staff.
  • Perform additional assignments per Controller's, Finance Director's or CFO's direction.


Basic Qualifications



  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in either accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting/finance with engineering & construction industry experience preferred.
  • Previous Assistant Controller experience in a business of $200M+ in annual revenue.
  • Leadership experience: has supervised a minimum of 4 staff simultaneously; been in supervisory role 4+ years.
  • Extensive experience/exposure to corporate accounting and financial management including AP, GL, Treasury, tax compliance, revenue recognition, the monthly close process, etc.
  • Detailed knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Previous experience in Audit support including supporting external audits.
  • Technology experience: has used Tier 1 or Tier 2 ERP and a high level/expert Excel user.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Private equity experience a plus.
  • Public accounting experience a plus.
  • Previous experience with CMiC (construction industry software) a plus.
  • Payroll experience (including Craft Labor) a plus.


Compensation



  • The anticipated salary for this position is $120,000-$130,000/yr, depending on previous experience.
