Purpose and Objective

This is an experienced role within the Distribution team. Our distribution team's purpose is to represent Legal & General Retirement America's value by ensuring a great experience for clients, building trusted relationships with intermediaries, and facilitating growth opportunities for the company. The focus of this role is to lead a wide range of US Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) transactions from simple to complex and to display a great understanding and knowledge of RFP and PRT processes and products and the work of the Distribution activity. This role will serve as a main point of contact and transaction lead. This includes production and delivery of bid materials, relationship management with external parties, and project management and coordination across internal departments.

Role and Responsibilities

* Produce responses to RFPs and contribute to the end-to-end proposal process to ensure fit for purpose and best quality proposals are submitted to clients. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of bids and other transactional documents.

* Serve as project manager on each transaction led. Coordinate with various internal teams to ensure seamless deal execution.

* Contribute to the management of the PRT deal pipeline, and complete detailed analysis on each RFP received to recommend which RFPs represent the best opportunities for the company. Contribute to the presentation of each to senior management such that the best decisions can be made. This includes presenting on angles varying from actuarial, relationship, project management/timing of a deal and any unique complexities of each individual deal.

* Support pricing strategy development, utilizing market competitive knowledge and bid feedback, and present pricing recommendations to senior management for approval, considering the intricacies of pension risk transfer pricing and the unique complexities of each transaction.

* Build and maintain relationships with PRT intermediaries to position the business appropriately for success and serve as primary point of contact for all day-to-day external communications. This includes but is not limited to in-person client meetings to establish and maintain those relationships as needed.

* Respond to stakeholder requests for information, manage expectations, keep relevant parties informed, focus on timely delivery, and take ownership for resolving issues.

* Prepare documents to meet visual, creative, and innovative requirement of customer, intermediaries, fiduciaries, consultants & clients consistent with brand & values. Collaborate with external stakeholders to present L&G's value proposition and support due diligence processes (e.g., 95-1).

* Ensure adherence to internal governance and controls throughout the PRT transaction process, complying with relevant regulations (e.g., ERISA, IRS guidelines).

* Maintain, at all times, a continuous improvement philosophy. Identify opportunities for improvement, share knowledge, and improve efficiencies. Work as a member of the team through active participation in team meetings, initiatives, and on the job training to improve the capability, values, morale, and contribution of the team.

* Position is hybrid with an expectation to travel to Stamford or Maryland office for major team events, trainings, and initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications

* Requires 3+ years' work experience in financial, investment or insurance industry, including experience in a client facing role. PRT specific experience is a plus.

* College Degree (BA / BS), typically in business and administration field, actuarial science or relevant work experience.

* Strong commitment to service and delivery for best outcomes.

* Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with executive-level individuals, both internal and external.

* Ability to develop basic understanding of highly technical content and translate into appropriate content for our clients.

* Ability to successfully balance the demands of routine work, ad hoc requests and project delivery.

* Strong project management skills, including ability to manage large scale projects with multiple stakeholders and successfully balance the demands of routine work, ad hoc request and project delivery.

* Strong sense of intellectual curiosity, analytical, technical and critical problem-solving skills to assist with sound decision making.

* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet and Workfront a plus.

* Have or obtain Life Insurance License within 90 days of hire.

The expected hiring compensation range for this position is $98,000 - $139,900 USD annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The current bonus target for the position is 15% of the base salary with a stretch to twice the target, modified for corporate and individual performance.
