TheSenior PCBA Engineerwill play a critical role in driving the development and integration of mechanical and electrical systems in our cutting-edge electric power tools and equipment. This position is integral to the creation of industry-changing products that redefine performance and durability.

You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

• Lead technical initiatives focusing on design-for-manufacturing (DFM), cost optimization, and thermal management.
• Conduct detailed design reviews, providing critical input to improve functionality and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate components into cohesive designs while meeting performance specifications.
• Actively engage with international facilities and suppliers.
• Analyze and recommend materials and processes to ensure compliance with quality and durability standards.
• Support production troubleshooting and implement continuous improvements.
• Lead the development of best practices for airflow and thermal management.

Cost Optimization & DFX Expertise:

• Identify opportunities to optimize material, component, and production costs while maintaining product quality.
• Implement Design for Excellence (DFX) strategies, including design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly, to enhance efficiency across the product lifecycle.
• Partner with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure cost-effective sourcing and manufacturing processes.
• Drive initiatives to optimize component selection and improve assembly processes to minimize variation and enhance reliability.

Research & Development:

• Investigate new materials and technologies to advance thermal management.
• Develop best practices for design packages, ensuring consistent specifications across teams and partners.
• Establish and enforce best practices for ESD, ingress, and vibration resistance to enhance system reliability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Serve as a bridge between Mechanical, Electrical, and Advanced Groups, recommending optimized solutions.
• Drive quality and efficiency improvements with global Milwaukee facilities and outside suppliers.

What TOOLS you'll bring with you:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electro-mechanical systems design and integration.
• Expertisein thermal management, PCB layout optimization, cost optimization initiatives, and DFX principles.
• Experience working with suppliers and engaging in global communication.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of FEA, DOE, FMEA, and GD&T.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (ProE, Solidworks, NX, or similar).
• Experience with PCBA manufacturing processes and various processes such as injection molding, stamping, soldering, and welding.
• Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
