Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Release Test Lead to join our dynamic team. At Visa, we believe that diversity and inclusion are key to driving innovation and success. Our team is dedicated to excellence and is responsible for managing the global Visa Access platform, which provides clients with a comprehensive suite of content and services essential for conducting business with Visa.

As a Release Test Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our platform. You will lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and drive the successful release of high-quality software. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership and communication skills, and a deep understanding of testing methodologies and best practices.

Responsibilities:

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

  • Serve as the overall lead responsible for UAT activities in lower environments before launch and in production after launch.
  • Create and manage UAT plans and scripts to ensure comprehensive coverage of all new and existing functionality.
  • Conduct regression testing to verify that preexisting functionality remains intact for each release.
  • Manage the UAT testing schedule, including sending calendar invites and ensuring all stakeholders are aware of testing timelines.
  • Oversee communications for the UAT process, coordinating effectively with product, development, and business operations teams.

Coordination and Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the QA Engineering team to utilize automated testing scripts to enhance efficiency and coverage.
  • Partner with Development team to track and ensure timely resolution of defects.
  • Work closely with the product team to create recorded video demos of new functionality, as needed.

Test Planning and Execution

  • Develop and implement comprehensive test plans that cover all aspects of the release cycle, including functional, regression, performance, and security testing.
  • Ensure that test environments are set up correctly, maintained, and available for testing as needed, including managing test data and configurations

Process Improvement and Risk Management

  • Identify areas for process improvement within the testing framework and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify potential risks in the release process and develop mitigation strategies to address them.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Create and maintain detailed functional specifications documentation to accurately reflect production functionality.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all testing activities, including test plans, test cases, defect reports, and metrics.
  • Regularly update stakeholders on the status of testing activities, including progress, issues, and risks, and provide recommendations for improving the release process.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualification

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing.
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and scripts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and lead.
Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 124,600.00 to 180,650.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
