Job Summary:

We are seeking a Sr Accounting Manager to oversee all financial operations, cost accounting, accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), trade spend analysis, and reporting across our CPG business. This role is essential in ensuring financial accuracy, profitability analysis, and cost control across all product lines, retailers, and distribution channels.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring all reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries are properly recorded.
  • Prepare financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reports.
  • Reconcile inventory, revenue, and COGS, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Perform variance analysis on sales, gross margins, and operational expenses, identifying key drivers of profitability.

  • Oversee AR and cash collections, ensuring timely payment from major retail partners and eCommerce platforms.
  • Monitor customer payment terms, outstanding balances, and credit exposure across multiple channels.
  • Ensure accurate and timely posting of cash receipts, chargebacks, and deductions from retailers.
  • Implement collection strategies to minimize overdue accounts and reduce bad debt exposure.

  • Maintain detailed COGS tracking, including raw materials, packaging, manufacturing, and freight costs.
  • Work closely with supply chain and operations teams to track and control costs.
  • Conduct gross margin analysis by product, customer, and channel to drive pricing and profitability strategies.


  • Oversee all trade spend, promotions, and retailer deductions, ensuring accurate accruals and reconciliations.


  • Provide P&L analysis by product, customer, and channel (brick-and-mortar vs. eCommerce) to optimize profitability.


  • Lead the implementation of a new financial, trade spend, and AR/AP tracking system, ensuring automation and accuracy.


  • Manage and develop a finance and accounting team of 4, overseeing all cost accounting, trade spend analysis, AR/AP management, and financial reporting functions.



Qualifications & Experience:



  • 5+ years of accounting/finance experience, with at least 5 years in CPG, retail, or eCommerce businesses.
  • Strong background in cost accounting, trade spend analysis, AR/AP management, and retail financial reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Knowledge of retailer chargebacks, deductions, and promotional spend tracking.
  • Expertise in sales and margin analysis across multiple retail channels.
  • Experience with ERP, trade spend management, and AR/AP automation systems, and proven ability to implement new financial tools.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a finance team.
