Job Description

Essential Functions:

• Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of business continuity plans for the healthcare system, including hospitals, and administrative functions.
• Conduct risk assessments and business impact analysis to identify critical functions, dependencies, and vulnerabilities within the healthcare system.
• Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical departments to develop and test disaster recovery and emergency response strategies.
• Provide support in the development and execution of business continuity training, exercises, and simulations for staff across the healthcare system.
• Ensure that business continuity plans comply with relevant healthcare regulations, standards, and accreditation requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS).
• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of business continuity plans and recommend improvements as needed.
• Maintain documentation and records related to business continuity plans, exercises, and incidents.
• Act as a liaison with external partners, including emergency management agencies, vendors, and contractors, to coordinate business continuity efforts.
• Support the continuous improvement of the healthcare system's overall resiliency through regular reviews and updates of business continuity plans and strategies.

• Maintains confidentiality.
• Work effectively in a team environment, coordinating workflow with other team members and ensuring a productive and efficient environment.
• Comply with safety principles, laws, regulations and standards associated with, but not limited to CMS, Joint Commission, and OSHA.
• Oversee emergency preparedness initiatives across the healthcare system, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements (CMS, Joint Commission, FEMA, etc.).
• All other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

Required:

Education - Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Emergency Management, or a related field

Certifications - Driver's License - State

Preferred:

Certifications - Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP) or Healthcare Business Continuity Management (HBCM); Certification in emergency management or healthcare emergency management. Completion of FEMA ICS courses 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800.

Experience - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business continuity planning, risk management, or emergency management within a healthcare setting. 1+ years experience in Incident Command Systems for emergency response. 2+ years experience in clinical patient care (Paramedic or Registered Nurse)
