Description

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee our warehouse operations in Sussex, WI. This role is critical in ensuring efficient inventory management, optimizing logistics, and driving operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing/CPG environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in warehouse management, inventory control, and process improvement.

Pay range: $100-$125k

A Taste of the Job:



  • Plan, organize, and manage the department functions effectively.
  • Assure accurate and timely computer system data entry (IFS) and accurate shipping, receiving, and production records.
  • Assist with the hold and recall procedures to assure customer safety in conjunction with the Quality team.
  • Assure departmental personnel safety, training, motivation, and effectiveness.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor departmental goals. Maintain proper housekeeping and sanitation.
  • Plan, organize, and implement effective communication for/with: department employees, other departments within the facility, outside storage locations and carriers, factory and corporate management, and external vendors. Provides leadership for the facility by active involvement on the Factory Leadership Team and provides input into the long-range planning of the facility.
  • Make effective decisions impacting department, factory budgets, and personnel. The incumbent also may be required to make decisions impacting Company business and outside agencies or companies, such as FDA/WDA, purchasing contracts, product hold/recall, etc.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct cycle counts, and minimize discrepancies.
  • Implement best practices for inventory control and loss prevention.
  • Manage inventory (timely, compliance with Company policies, FEFO/FIFO rotation).
  • Direct activities to assure that storage requirements for ingredients and finished goods are met.
  • Coordinates and expedites flow of materials for planned production.
  • Responsible for providing leadership and guidance during budget building with constant emphasis on practical business and financial responsibility.
  • Lead, train, and develop warehouse staff, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. The incumbent is responsible for managing and evaluating the performance of personnel in the Warehouse department.

  • Administer departmental and Company policies and procedures as part of the Factory Leadership Team.



  • Interprets company policies to work teams and enforces policies and safety requirements. People and Culture responsibilities will include departmental interviewing/evaluating/hiring prospective employees, goal setting, performance evaluation, employee relations, consistent administration of policies and procedures, training, recognition, and compliance with internal and external requirements.   • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, optimize warehouse layout for efficiency, and collaborate with transportation providers.



  • Identify and implement lean methodologies to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational effectiveness.



  • Manages capital and process improvement projects for the department.



  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, company policies, and industry regulations.



  • Promote and enforce workplace safety standards. Assume all safety, system, and lift truck certification and training.



  • Provide a safe and healthful work environment for all personnel through consistent support of Nature's Path food safety and safety processes.



  • Oversee safety processes including, but not limited to, goal setting, hazard recognition, and elimination, administration of safety procedures and corresponding corrective action, area inspection, job skills, and compliance training, accident investigation and safety meetings.



  • Utilize WMS (Warehouse Management System) and ERP software to track inventory, generate reports, and improve data accuracy.





Path for Success:

Education

BS degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration; work experience may be considered in lieu

Experience



  • 5+ years of supply chain, logistical, warehousing or distribution experience in a manufacturing or CPG environment is required with supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of financial and budgetary experience.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, supply chain logistics, and distribution processes.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP software, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, drive process improvements, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a team oriented fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Incumbent must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to deal with internal and external customers.
  • Must have the ability to exercise considerable judgement and strategic planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, presentation and facilitation skills.
