POSITION SUMMARY

The Test Technician Level "I" is responsible for performing routine tests and inspections on high-pressure air and gas compressor systems to ensure operational efficiency and safety. This role involves preparing systems for testing, conducting pressure and performance tests, detecting and documenting leaks, and verifying the functionality of safety features. The technician will work closely with senior technicians and engineers to identify and resolve issues, maintain accurate records, and ensure all testing procedures adhere to company standards and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, basic mechanical knowledge, and the ability to follow precise instructions.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Include the following, but other duties may be assigned.

? Safety Check: Inspect safety features/devices like pressure relief valves, gauges, and emergency shut-off mechanisms for proper functionality.

? Report Risk: Report safety and risk concerns to immediate supervisor.

? Preparation: Verify the system setup is safe, ensure proper installation, and check all components for signs of damage or wear.

? Pressure Testing: Gradually increase pressure to test the system's capability and identify any leaks or weaknesses.

? Leak Detection: Use appropriate methods (e.g., soap solution, audible, visual) to find and address any leaks in the system.

? Performance Monitoring: Assess system performance parameters, such as pressure levels, flow rates, and temperature, to ensure they meet specifications.

? System Adjustment: Make necessary adjustments to optimize performance and ensure the system operates within its designed parameters. ? Documentation: Record test results, observations, and any issues encountered during the testing process.

? Final Inspection: Conduct a thorough post-test inspection to confirm all components are functioning correctly and securely.

? Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on test outcomes, any problems identified, and recommended actions for maintenance or repairs.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

? High school diploma or equivalent. ? Regular and reliable attendance.

? Positive attitude.

? A minimum of two (2) years of related mechanical and electrical experience.

? Ability to read and understand shop drawings, diagrams and schematics; and utilizes these drawings to identify system components on the physical machine.

? Proficient in reading standard measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, etc.

? Operate, read, and record test data from devices such as voltmeters, amp meters and pressure gauges.

? Proficient in the use of hand tools and specialized tooling used in the Test Department.

? Basic knowledge of electrical motor controls and PLC systems.

? Follow the Workmanship Standards and the ISO quality system.

? Familiarity with Lean concepts.

? Able to follow directions and work independently.

? Communicate effectively to their immediate supervisor the status of needed parts to finish testing of a unit either immediate or future.

? Must be detail-oriented, able to multitask, and prioritize demands.

? Can adapt and thrive in a constantly changing environment.

? Able to identify and safely operate standard hand, power, and air tools.

? Ability to communicate information clearly and effectively.

? Must be able to work in a team setting and be accepting of team dynamics.
